About Ericson of Sweden
The Ericson of Sweden hat and cap factory was started in the Swedish town of Borlänge in 1885 by Carl Theodor Ericson. Mr. Ericson was a fourth-generation hat maker and when he passed on in 1927, his son Nils carried on with the family business. The business flourished and the factory grew bigger in 1943. The number of workers peaked at 230 workers in the 50’s and the factory was the biggest supplier of work for women in Borlänge at the time. Today, the production of their hats has not changed much in 100 years. Every step is still done by hand by their seamstresses, which makes each hat and cap unique.
