About Harley of Scotland
Harley of Scotland has been a British pioneer of three-dimensional seam-free whole-garment knitwear for over 15 years. This technique merges a traditional glove-like fit and comfort with cutting-edge 21st-century knit technology. They carefully knit pure new wool into luxurious sweaters with zero yarn waste.

Established in 1929 by fisherman Peter Harley Buchan – great-grandfather and grandfather of the current owners. The company began knitting traditional fisherman’s socks for the locals inspired by the unique symbolism of the patterns of the Fair Isle sweaters he saw Northern Isles fishermen wear. Using Shetland wool, he later went on to produce beautiful Fair Isle knitwear inspired by the sea, the spectacular coastline, and local culture and heritage. The Harley of Scotland’s factory is still located on the original factory site which was a herring fish yard.
